The story of the word
ἀναιμία era sin más la falta de sangre, y así se interpretaba la palidez del enfermo cuando no había forma de mirar dentro. El recuento de glóbulos rojos no llega hasta el siglo XIX: con él la anemia deja de ser un aspecto de la cara y pasa a ser una cifra. De αἷμα vienen hemorragia, hematoma y hemoglobina.
