The story of the word
κρανίον es un diminutivo, algo así como cabecita, emparentado con κάρα, cabeza. Los evangelios griegos llaman al Gólgota Κρανίου Τόπος, lugar de la calavera, que el latín tradujo Calvariae Locus y de ahí salió Calvario. La migraña es el mismo hueso: ἡμικρανία, dolor de medio cráneo, pasó al latín como hemicrania y se desgastó hasta migraña.
